This Privacy Policy explains what information screeningpolicy.com collects, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We keep it short, plain, and specific to how our screening policy builder actually works.
Privacy in four sentences
We collect only what the policy builder needs: the job, pay band, work locations, and planned checks you enter, plus the email address that receives your report.
We never ask for, and never want, personal information about job applicants or employees.
We do not sell your information, and we share it only with the vendors that run our site, deliver email, and process payments.
You can ask us to show, correct, or delete anything we hold about you at any time.
What we collect

To generate and email your report, support you, bill you, and keep the site secure.

1Who we are
screeningpolicy.com is owned and operated by Langley Porter AG LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”).
We publish an employment screening policy builder for employers, HR teams, and their advisers.
The builder compiles federal, state, and local screening laws into a written policy recommendation for a specific job position.

2Who this policy covers
This policy applies to visitors of screeningpolicy.com and to customers who use the policy builder.
It does not apply to job applicants or employees, because we do not collect information about them.
We are not a background check company. screeningpolicy.com does not run background checks, does not receive consumer reports, and is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).
The builder asks about a job, not about a person. Please do not enter any applicant’s name, Social Security number, or other identifying information.
3Information we collect
Information you give us
- Policy builder inputs. Job title and duties, employment type, salary range, employer size and industry, work locations, and the screening checks you plan to run.
- Contact details. Your name, company name, and the email address that receives your report.
- Account and access details. A page password, access token, or login credentials, where we issue them.
- Payment details. Our payment processor collects your card number and billing address. We receive a confirmation, the last four digits of the card, and the amount, but never the full card number.
- Correspondence. Anything you send us by email or through a contact form.
Information collected automatically
- Server logs. IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, referring page, and timestamps.
- Cookies and similar technologies. Described in Section 5.
- Security signals. Failed login attempts, request patterns, and firewall events used to block abuse.
Information we do not collect
We do not collect Social Security numbers, dates of birth, criminal history, or any other information about the individuals your company screens.
4How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
- Generate your screening policy report and email it to the address you provide.
- Answer support requests and help you interpret your report.
- Process payments, issue receipts, and manage access tokens.
- Operate, secure, and improve the site and the builder.
- Understand which job types and jurisdictions are requested most, using aggregated data that does not identify you.
- Send service messages, such as a notice that a law we cite has changed.
- Send occasional product updates, only if you opt in, and always with an unsubscribe link.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
We do not use your policy inputs to train artificial intelligence models, and we do not sell or rent any information we collect.
5Cookies and analytics
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. We use them sparingly.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may prevent the builder from working.
You can opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
We do not run advertising cookies, and we do not respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals because no industry standard defines them.
6How we share information
We share information only in these situations:
- Service providers. Web hosting, email delivery, payment processing, analytics, and security vendors that act on our instructions and may not use your data for their own purposes.
- Legal requirements. When a law, subpoena, court order, or government request requires it, or to protect our rights, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers. If Langley Porter AG LLC is merged, acquired, or sells assets, your information may transfer to the successor under this same policy.
- With your direction. For example, when you ask us to send a report to your attorney or a colleague.
We do not sell personal information, and we have not sold personal information in the past twelve months.
7Policy reports and email delivery
When you finish the builder, we generate your report as a PDF and email it to the address you entered.
Your answers are not saved to a customer database. Once the report is delivered, the inputs are discarded from the builder.
A copy of each delivered report is retained in our support mailbox so we can resend it, answer questions about it, and check the quality of our recommendations.
Email travels across networks we do not control. If you need a report delivered another way, write to us before you generate it.
8How long we keep information

9How we protect information
- All traffic to screeningpolicy.com is encrypted with HTTPS.
- The rules engine and law dataset run on our server, so your inputs never travel to a third-party AI service.
- Access to systems and mailboxes is limited to people who need it and is protected by strong passwords and multi-factor authentication.
- A web application firewall blocks malicious traffic and repeated login attempts.
- Card data is handled entirely by our PCI-compliant payment processor.
No system is perfectly secure. If we learn of a breach affecting your information, we will notify you as required by law.
10Your privacy rights
Whatever state or country you are in, we honor these requests as a matter of practice:
- Access. Ask what information we hold about you and receive a copy.
- Correction. Ask us to fix inaccurate information.
- Deletion. Ask us to delete your information, subject to records we must keep for tax or legal reasons.
- Opt out of marketing. Use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or write to us.
- Portability. Receive your information in a common, machine-readable format.
- No discrimination. We will never charge more or deliver less because you exercised a privacy right.
To make a request, email support@screeningpolicy.com with the subject line “Privacy request.” We will verify that the request comes from the email address on file and respond within 30 days.
Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas, Oregon, and other states with consumer privacy laws may also have the right to appeal a denied request and to complain to their state attorney general.
11Children
screeningpolicy.com is a business tool for employers. It is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us and we will delete it.
12Links to other websites
Our reports and pages link to government statutes, agency websites, and to background screening resources such as usabackground.com.
Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their practices. Please review their policies before providing information to them.
13Changes to this policy
We update this policy when our practices or the law changes. The effective date at the top of the page tells you when the current version took effect.
For material changes, we will post a notice on the site or email customers who have purchased a report in the previous twelve months.

Three requests we always honor
Email us and we will send a copy of everything we hold about you, usually within a few business days.
Tell us what is wrong and we will correct it, including the email address a report was sent to.
Ask and we will erase your report copies and correspondence, keeping only the payment records tax law requires.
Common questions about privacy on screeningpolicy.com
Does screeningpolicy.com store the answers I enter in the policy builder?
No. Your answers are used to generate the report and are then discarded. Only the delivered PDF is kept, in our support mailbox, so we can resend it or answer questions about it.
Do I need to enter an applicant’s personal information?
Never. The builder asks about the job position, pay range, locations, and planned checks, not about any person. Please do not enter names, Social Security numbers, or dates of birth.
Is screeningpolicy.com a consumer reporting agency?
No. We do not run background checks or receive consumer reports, so the FCRA obligations of a consumer reporting agency do not apply to us. Your background screening vendor has its own FCRA privacy duties.
Do you sell my information or use it to train AI?
No to both. We do not sell or rent personal information, and your policy inputs are processed by our own rules engine, not sent to an outside AI model for training.
How do I delete my information?
Email support@screeningpolicy.com with the subject line “Privacy request.” We verify the request from the email address on file and respond within 30 days.
Who receives my report?
Only the email address you enter, plus a copy in our support mailbox. If you want a report sent to your attorney as well, add that address when you generate it or ask us afterward.
